The air motor has been designed with an integrated muffling system. This muffling system reduces the exhaust noise level by 25 dBA and removes 99.9% of the lubrication oil from the exhaust air. The muffler is so effective that the main source of noise pollution from the air motor is the friction noise made by the vanes scraping against the barrel. The exhaust of the air motor has been designed to minimise back-pressure, with large-radii bends and an over-sized exhaust pipe. The muffling system uses two AMC910-F20D mufflers (made by SMC).
